long overdue-d thought

I actually miss my long flawless hair :-(

Science practical ( screwed that shit up :( Didn't even finish the paper!!! & I think the examiner thought I was about to faint bc I was sweating like mad and I burnt my test tube holder lol. what an embarrassment !!!!1!!!11! ) and maths papers 1 down and tomorrow is English paper!!! Do you feel my excitement ?????? totally not. Probably an excuse for me to blog. lol.

So social media is like so prevalent to everyone now. Everyone has to own at least a social media account to fit in to society. Even the most quietest or the most unpopular kids in school has a social media account or at least in the case of my class. I'm not saying that it fully has it's negative impact. Personally, after watching the 'look up' video , I find that what that guy said really made sense. But then again , without social media , how do we keep in contact with someone who might not be in the same country as you or what if you need to pass down an emergency message? Are you going to do it the old-fashioned way - sending letters ? Letters may take days or when you are in a different country, wouldn't it be worse? I remembered having pen-pals in primary school. I admit I liked writing to my pen-pal , however what sucked was the waiting-time. The waiting time always sucked. ( just like seeing the last seen )

Not trying to say that you don't need to wait when you are using social media but the waiting time is slower. But both are similar , when a person doesn't want to reply , he/she can have the freedom of choice to reply or not. ( okay lah , I would really want to receive handwritten love letters compared to a whatsapp message or sms to express their love, lol. )  Social media has changed the way society works. & I guess most of them are negative impacts. ( at least to me ) One of them is spreading hatred and making society a more horrible place to be in. I remembered being a victim of cyberbully in primary school. Most of my friends who are closed to me would have known the story. A vague recount of what happen would be ; I was ganged up by a mother-daughter and I was insulted because I'm mixed and because apparently my ex is the daughter's crush. Okay I admit my bullying wasn't that bad because I had the whole P6 batch ( excluding her loser friends ) ( maisiaosiao ) to back me up and my mum was being really supportive. ( by not joining in but encouraging me to leave social media. This is actually the correct attitude!! ) But I bet not everyone will be as lucky as I was. I had this junior. Just because of jealousy over friendship problems , her nude photos were all over the internet and it trended in sg. I would say it was wrong for her to send a nude picture of herself to someone. But it was even more wrong from that someone to post it on the net. Its really hurtful and disrespectful in my perspective. And then this changed her. She became more rude and negative towards people and always resort to violence. Its painful to watch your junior like this.

Another thing that caught my attention is the infamous STOMP that is so popular in sg. Okay, honestly speaking, I love to read some of their articles that praises the community. I mean like everyone deserves to be praised for doing good deeds right? But stuff that not meant to be up and it is up is really unreasonable. An example would be NS men sitting on a seat while an old man was standing in front of him. The picture showed him sitting but did not show the empty reserved seat that was just beside him. Things people do to get fame? Things people do to get money? You see in almost everything you do, there will be another side of the story, we shouldn't really jump into conclusion. ( although I know it is almost EVERYONE's natural instinct ) I mean like if you want to write and earn so much how about just go be an editor or best , director. Direct a play so you don't have to lie.

To be honest , I hate it when people say " we still can keep in contact via whatsapp / twitter / facebook " Like yes I know we can keep in contact through these social media but there are times when I doubt myself and ask myself is the person I'm speaking to really is the person I'm speaking or am I just speaking to someone else? Are they really feeling like that at the exact moment? Its just a huge question mark in my head and all these questions can never be answered because you can't see how the other party reacts , whether they are genuinely sincere or being all scarstic about it. I have this friend we used to text like normal one day I was telling her a joke and a typical reply of hers was HAHA but her next reply was haha . So whats the difference between haha and HAHA , I asked. She said HAHA seemed more scarstic... & I was like wot. When has caps become the line between being genuinely trueful and being scarstic? And I don't blame her for that really. She did it because people are saying how scarstic she is towards other people and she's trying to change. But its screwed up to see how such a normal conversation like this change someone's mood.

I'm not saying that social media is fully negative but the negative weights more than the positive. An example of something really positive would be something like the lonely bouquet ( I know it has been a months since I saw the bouquet ) . By using social media to spread happiness and message throughout the world is really heartwarming. I know it is not just not thelonelybouquet is doing it but there are a lot more other campaigns to promote happiness in the world but I really really deep down my heart love and appreciate that these campaigns existed and whoever started these campaigns are an awesome bunch of people. ( ps I still havent found out who left the bouquet there and who adopted the bouquet. I hope no one threw it away. :-( )

Another example being able to keep in contact with the people in the past and being them back to your future. an example would be munshi , GYLS , 6B'10. ( okay lah , I'm quite sad that I didn't manage to go for 6B 's outing and not EVERYONE in munshi came during that outing and GYLS is dead.... ) But I'm just really glad that with the use of social media , I'm able to know how the people are doing. Whether or not they are doing fine without even holding a conversation.  Sometimes , I don't really have that guts to start a conversation with someone who used to mean so much but we never talked for years. Its hard I swear.

Instagram is a perfect way to keep memories too!! Occasionally I will scroll through my insta and looked at those memories I use to have with people. And also to see how others are doing. ( not really stalking ok )

Everything in this blogpost is just based on MY OPINION. I'm not forcing you to think like me neither am I forcing you to like the way I think, if you don't like it just close the tab. Don't stomp me ok. :-(

back to studying !!!!! :-(
ps i will still use my social media after this
contradicting I know.....
