Contradiction.

Sometimes the amount of effort you put in does not determines your result. Your effort and results may be directly proportional or indirectly proportional to each other. You may put in minimal effort in something but achieve something outstanding or you may put in maximum effort and get nothing in return. " It depends on your technique and skills. "
technique
tɛkˈniːk/
noun
skill or ability in a particular field.
    • "he has excellent technique"

Whether you have good technique or not depends on the amount of time spend on practicing or , if you are lucky enough , natural talent.
skill
skɪl/
noun
  1. 1.
the ability to do something well; expertise.

And to build up a skill , it requires technique , which then again requires practice. Practice makes perfect right? Practice needs effort too. So if you put in minimal practice or maximum practice and receive outstanding or nothing as a result respectively , what's the point ? So do you actually practice and put in effort? Or do you try your luck with the amount of effort put in? And what if the result was not your ideal result? Would you feel happy that you knew you didnt put in the amount of effort that why you deserved it? Or will you get upset because the amount of effort you put in shows you deserve better?

So how much effort do you exactly put in?

sometimes, I get so tired,
figuring whether or not I put in ENOUGH effort.
whether I did my best,
when I thought I did,
results don't show.
Everybody says,
 "wait
the results will show one day"
But I just want to give everything up.
how long more
can I hold on.
